Sony FX6 Full Frame Camera

The Sony FX6 Digital Cinema Camera Kit is one of the best cameras I have ever put in my hands. Perfect for both "run & gun shoots" to full, scripted productions. It’s such an impressive camera that many of the DP’s (Director of Photography) I have hired for larger scripted projects also now favor the FX6.

Key Features:;

  • 4K Full-Frame 10.2MP CMOS Exmor R Sensor
For crisp images with a larger range of view than offered on cropped sensor cameras

  • High frame rate options for cinematic, super slow motion video:
Frame rates for each image resolution are: DCI 4K60p / UHD 4K120p / 1080p240

  • Built-In Variable Neutral Density (ND) Filter
The ND filter limits the range of light coming into the camera, evening out hot spots with lots of light from more shaded features creating a more even, cinematic look.

  • 15+ Stops of Dynamic Range in S-Log 3 EI
Allowing for greater image manipulation and color correction in post.

  • Compact Form Weighs Just < 2 lb
Light weight and a comfortable form factor make the FX6 a great “all day” camera - even when shooting handheld or on a gimbal.

  • Phase Detection AF/Face Tracking/Eye AF
I have never trusted auto settings in the past, preferring to manually set for exposure and to ride focus while shooting, but the new SONY autofocus is extraordinary. We can lock in on the eye or face of multiple people on camera to ensure they stay in focus.

  • Base 800 & 12,800 ISO / 320-409,600 Max
Low-light capabilities have set SONY apart from it’s competition for years. With my fast 1.4 lenses my SONY cameras can “see in the dark” with little or no image degradation, although I do prefer to keep my ISO under 3200.

  • S-Cinetone, S-Log3, HLG Modes
A variety of picture profiles create a wide array of cinematic looks, deeper color resolution and more opportunities for image manipulation in post.

  • 10-Bit 4:2:2 XAVC-I/16-Bit Raw Output
The FX6 is capable of shooting uncompressed video, for sharper, higher quality images.

  • Dual CFexpress Type A/SDXC Card Slots
We can record to two cards for built-in redundancy. If one card corrupts or fails (which rarely happens), you’re covered - we have recorded a simultaneous copy on the second card.
